Odysseus

$1,500.00

From my “Scratch” Collection which is in progress. Its a Twombly-esque exploration of crude mark making as a vehicle to intersect my experience of cerebral palsy with mythology.

In this case the descending forms from the sky pour down over a lone white abstraction of a figure standing adjacent to a shimmering sea with seabirds flying above to represent the protection of the goddess Athena.

But it is simultaneously a commentary on the frailty of our bodies: the amorphous forms in black part phallus, part phalange, wagging downward in submission to time or spasticity both. A stop motion meditation on the body in flaccid decline.
